I bought the 18" for my deck and sidewalk. We just had 2 storms this week (26" and 14"), and this little guy blew thru the snow like a much larger 2 stage. And it really does throw the snow 25 feet! Great machine!
If you're looking for a great snow blower this is your ticket! It handled 7" of snow with ease. I haven't even used the electric start yet. The pull start works every time!
I bought this snowblower because of an impending snow storm and the ability to throw it in my truck, take it to my mothers, and clear her snow. I easily assembled it and started it. The next day, I woke up to approximately 4" of fresh snow. I started the snowblower and got 10' down the driveway when I experienced a vibration. I took the snowblower back into the garage and noticed that the bolts retaining the rubber to the auger were missing. Luckily, I had a couple of bolts and washers to reattach the rubber and completed the driveway. No problems since then.
I choose the smaller snow blower for the rather restricted area in which I normally use one. It is small, light and easy to maneuver. It seems to check off all the boxes for what I need and want in a snow blower. Product quality appears to be good, it starts easily, and maneuvers with little effort. Very happy with my purchase!
Light weight, easy to maneuver. I bought the electric start, but the manual pull start was easy to pull and started with only a few primer pumps. Snow removal was a snap. So far this winter I have had only up to 5 inches of dry snow to remove. But when I hit spots of 8 inches plus, it tore through it with no drop in performance.
I AM 77 AND 5'2 AND I GOT SO TIRED OF SHOVELING SNOW THIS WINTER BECAUSE MY HUSBAND IS UNABLE TO DO THIS AND I BOUGHT THE TORO SNOWBLOWER 518 18 INCH AND IT IS THE PERFECT HIGHTH FOR ME AND THE ELECTRIC START IS A GOD SEND BECAUSE WE HAVE A BIGGER SNOWBLOWER BUT I CAN'T PULL IT HARD ENOUGH TO START IT. I AM SO GLAD I FOUND THIS ONE I TRULY LOVE IT. THANK YOU FOR MAKING SUCH A WONDERFUL BLOWER
Scraper bar on bottom allows snow underneath. Thus snow is thrown onto pant legs. Pant legs are caked wit snow after 10 minutes.
It has everything I need in a little package, yet very powerful.
First I have to tell you my son is an artist. He really does not do very well on mechanical things(he could draw one xxxx of a snow scene). We recently went through a pretty good few days of the white stuff and he tells me that it went a little slower through the heavy stuff but it went through it with out any problems. He did mention how nice it was that you have to put the gas straight in the tank, no mixing the gas and oil. I told him about the mixing when we were talking getting one. By the way we live in Wisconsin, there is enough snow to go around and then some. All in all he said the worked good, he was impressed. So far it's working pretty good. Dennis (the old man)
Light weight and super easy to use. My 2 and 1/2 car driveway can be a challenge but this lightweight machine makes short work of it.
