    Comments:

This was a great bike. I bought it at Ancaster Cycle, no problems, and it was a phenomenal purchase. I used it for 7 months (before it was stolen...) and had no complaints. I was able to get through that whole period with only one tune-up, after riding daily about 1-2 hours.

I'd consider myself a novice cyclist even though I've been riding my whole life. I've never done competitions, clubs or extreme riding. I'm a 47 year old male in the Chicago suburbs and I ride on hilly paved surfaces mostly. I keep the bike on the back of my car almost the entire riding season (as long as it isn't raining) so the internal cable routing on this model is great for preventing cable and gear shifting problems that have always arisen for me with external cables and long-term bike rack use on a car. My last bike did not have the front-suspension lockout. This bike does have that feature and it really helps on some of the more difficult climbs. Other than that, this bike has everything else that a beginner to intermediate rider would expect. This is my third GIANT bike and, not surprisingly, this is my favorite model for the reasons stated above.

    Comments:

I needed to get back into biking to rehab my knees and lose about 50lbs, so I went looking. Looked at Trek, Specialized, etc. My very first real mountain bike years ago was a Giant so I headed over to Penn Cycle in Woodbury. Mike and guys at Penn Cycle were outstanding - professional, knowledgeable, helpful, fun, and passionate about their sport. I was torn between the Fathom 2 and the Talon 2 and decided on the Talon 2 for the price. After a month or so of pondering and waiting for bonus from work (I wanted to get everything at once), I headed on over to Penn to pick up the Talon 2 in red. I happened to walk around the showroom and spotted the Talon 3 and it looked NOTHING in person like it does online so I had to ask what it was. I rode the Talon 2 and then the Talon 3, both just around the store and parking lot a few times and on the grass and over a few curbs. Not the absolute best test in the world but I couldn't tell one once of difference between the two bikes, so I went with the Talon 3 in satin black, orange and blue. I also got a decent helmet, a NiteRider 750 headlight/taillight combo, a water bottle holder and an underseat pack all for less than the Talon 2! I have ridden my new bike now about a dozen times on trails, railbeds, roads, and a bit of offroad. LOVE IT! Couldn't be happier for what I spent and what I will be using it for. Again, Mike and the boys at Woodbury Penn Cycle are incredible and I wouldn't go anywhere else!

      Comments:

My 13 yo daughter wanted my almost perfectly new Raleigh Talus (great bike also) and so I went shopping/researching for my next bike. I wanted to stay under $600 and after much reading and watching YouTube videos I decided on the Talon 3. Incredible bike. Looks, components, fork, I could not have asked for more for the amount of bike I was getting. It runs like a dream and the guys (at Ride Away bikes) are so knowledgeable it was nice to not be pressured into buying I didn't really need. Thanks you guys!!!!!

After 20 years no riding a bike I decide for 2017 start riding again. After weeks of research the 2017 Talon was the best choice for my budget (because the components) and I really love it!!! is a lightweight, sturdy construction and well made machine. You can not be wrong with this entry level bike.
